CTA Architects is the current trading name of Carl Thompson Associates which started practicing in 1980.

Rob Favager joined the practice in the same year and following some years in other practices to gain a variety of experience he rejoined Carl Thompson Associates in the year 2000.

Following the retirement of Carl Thompson in 2001, Rob Favager took over as proprietor and has been the sole proprietor for 14 years.

Peter Norton MA Arch joined the practice in 2002 and is currently an associate of the practice and lead designer.

Whist the name was initially retained to ensure some continuity it was changed to CTA Architects to give a more contemporary image whilst still keeping the initials of the founder.
